Re-imagined Jewellery
I get lots of requests from the general public to melt down their old gold pieces that they do not wear any more, and re-make them into something new and special. Often they have been left a gold piece from and aunt, mother or grandmother, that has badly dated over time, but the piece still has great sentiumental value.
Jewellery has always been a way to hold onto the ones we love the most when they have passed. Why not let me create you something very special from a piece that you have been left? Something that will help you keep the memories in a new, modern form and something that you will enjoy wearing time and time again
As time goes by, there are less and less people like me who have the skills, equipment and creativity to do this kind of work. It has taken me nearly ten years to perfect the techniques I use to re-create you something that is new and fresh, yet timeless in its own right.
Regardless of what the repurposed piece is going to be, the first few stages are always the same. I have to get the unwanted gold jewellery into a form that I can rework, and this is normally done by melting the piece/s down into a special crucible and pouring the liquid gold into a mould to create a baby ingot.
Obviously, the finished piece can be anything that my client desires. The beauty of coming to me is that you can have EXACTLY what you want, you don’t have to choose a mass-produced ring from tray 16, for example, in some shop window!
Some of the great things about gold are that it is almost impossible to destroy, it always goes up in value, and gold is gold, therefore worth doing something with. That is why it’s far better to utilise my skills and expertise to create you something fresh and new.

After the initial heat is built up – I use an
Oxy-Propane gas torch to increase the temperature, so I can pour the liquid gold into the mould.

After the gold has cooled down, I take the newly formed gold bar out of the former.

I then start to form it into the required shape and dimensions. This is when things can change depending on what my client requires.
